We were amongst the first practices in Shropshire to launch 'ADVANCED ACCESS' which is an initiative to try to improve access to doctors across the country.
It means that when you wish to see the doctor, simply ring the surgery and you will be given an appointment on the day that you call. There will still be some 'advanced' appointments but most surveys show that patients want to be able to book immediately when they ring, so we hope this will meet most patients' needs.About 80% of the doctors' appointments are bookable on the day that you need to see him/her. Conversley you can book 'in advance' with the nurse about 80% of the time.
At least one Practice Nurse is available every day and we will try to make sure that there are spaces within 24 hours for patients that request an appointment. It is likely that more of the nurses' appointments will be booked in advance though for routine matters.
