Other Doctors in the Practice
Dr Mary Goudge
BSc (Hons) MBChB MRCGP
Dr Goudge works in the surgery presently for two surgeries per week; she completed her training here as Registrar in 2003-4 and now works part time here and most of the week as a Specialist GP at Whitchurch Hospital, specialising in Elderly Care. She trained in St Andrew's, Scotland, qualifying in 1993 and spent some time specialising in anaesthetics and Casualty work before becoming a GP. She is married to a computer boffin who fortunately approves of this website!
Doctors in Training
Ours is a Training Practice. This means that there will often be a Doctor in training - either a GP Specialist Registrar or a 'Foundation Year 2' Doctor working here. These are fully qualified doctors (often qualified for several years) who are doing specialist training to become GPs.
Foundation Year 2 (FY2) Doctors are deciding which specialty they wish to pursue and spend 4 months with us gaining experience in General Practice.
For GP Registrars this is often the final part of their training and they usually spend 6 months or a year with us.
Training doctors take clinics and surgeries in exactly the same way as the GP Partners do.
